Redondo Beach, California, acquires an ALERT AM system.

The system chosen has a four-day operational battery backup, power loss notification module and computer or phone-based audio control.

Located in Los Angeles County, Redondo Beach is one of three beach cities in the South Bay region of California. Population: 63,000. Storms are an ever present danger to this resort town and harbor.
Dispatcher Nicole poses at her computer-control workstation. Audio may also be controlled by phone if computers are inaccessible. See the Workstation Audio Control webpage.
The Power Loss Notification Module optioned has five programmable notification delay periods and is instantaneous to 24 hours. There's an internal battery backup. The module automatically dials up to four telephone numbers, including cell phones and pagers if power goes down.
Redondo Beach chose an outdoor-style electronics enclosure, NEMA-3R grade, gasketed with secure dual-door access. Cabinet lights activate/deactivate with door opening/closing. The cabinet has internal locks and locking handles on both doors. It also has a fan/vent/filter and is thermostatically controlled. An AC power service panel and ground bus is included.
