Audio Distribution to Satellite Radio Stations

Audio distribution to satellite ALERT AM stations may be accomplished over leased telephone lines, fiber optics or a Wireless Audio Link System. Each of these methods uses continuously available links to distribute the audio in real time, guaranteeing that all stations are broadcasting current message content.

1 - LEASED TELEPHONE LAND LINES - are universally available as a means to link audio.

2 - FIBER OPTICS - and/or existing network infrastructure might provide an excellent way to distribute audio, under the right circumstances.

3 -WIRELESS AUDIO LINK (WAL) SYSTEM *

W
ireless alternative offers the following advantages:

  • Fully under your ownership and control.

  • No monthly cost to operate.

  • Excellent signal quality.

  • Unaffected by power outages when 4-Day Battery Backup is optioned or generator/UPS is present.

  • Unaffected by weather disruption that can affect phone and fiber lines.

  • Licensed, protected frequencies (VHF).

Wireless Audio Link range is up to 20 miles with line-of-sight. Relatively low VHF operating frequencies will accommodate some terrain and foliage. **

________________

NOTES:

*   The Wireless Audio Link system is analog based and does not depend upon digital or IP-based equipment to function.

** If satellite stations are fewer than 15 miles apart, GPS Frequency Stabilization is recommended to prevent inter-station interference (heterodyne).
