Ranger Receivers
The Ranger Receiver promises assured listening to Emergency Advisory Radio anytime. Offering a choice of wind-up and solar power, the Ranger incorporates the latest in self-sufficient technology — unparalleled sound quality, play-time performance, dependability and durability. Its design is rugged, designed for emergency use.

In direct sunlight, the Ranger will charge itself and play continuously. Or, wind it up, and it works anytime and anywhere — about 30 minutes of play time for only 30 seconds of winding with a convenient fold-up handle. The LED-charge indicator tells you how fast to wind! Or, plug it into 120-volt AC power. When fully charged, the Ranger will play continuously for 25 hours.

The Ranger's tuner is analog, so it will never lose the frequency it's tuned to.

As a public service, agencies often make Ranger Receivers available for a nominal price to citizens who request them.

The Ranger Receiver is intended to enhance the ability of citizens to receive ALERT AM signals during emergencies in non-automobile settings. It cannot, however, receive AM signals in areas that are subject to radio interference or signal shielding, or at locations where the signal is otherwise not present due to uneven coverage or excessive range.
