RESPONDER1 Mobile Emergency Broadcast System |
Anywhere and on the Air -
Fast! |
|
| |
Emergency
managers don't know exactly where public safety will be
threatened; hence, the need for mobile
units. Trailer-mounted RESPONDER1 emergency advisory radio
stations may be deployed with mobile command centers directly to
troublespots to broadcast to motorists nearby 24/7. The station
operates on
battery packs for 10 days between charges and may also be plugged
directly into 120-volt AC power to broadcast indefinitely. |
 |
| |
|
Coverage
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licenses RESPONDER1
stations to operate on 530-1700 kHz in the AM band, secondary to
standard AM broadcast stations, each with a 25-75-square-mile
range from a fixed point and given territory. |
|
| |
|
| |
|
Signs Optional
FASTrack
signs may be used to announce the
station to motorists. Travelers receive the broadcasts on
vehicle radio receivers. |
|
 |
| |
|
Setup RESPONDER1 stations are not only easy to deploy but also easy to
set up. Upon reaching the scene, the operator
merely positions the trailer, positions the antenna, lays out the
groundplane and flips on the power. Once on the air, the operator
has the option of running on the rechargeable battery pack up to
10 days or plugging RESPONDER1 directly into a 120-volt AC power
source. |
