Founded in 1983, Information Station Specialists is the nation's sole domestically owned source for Information Radio Stations, Advisory Signs and associated power sources used to broadcast safety and service messages to motorists, and the only source providing a product entirely made in America.

This specialized Highway Advisory Radio Antenna System produces a signal intensity, which with FCC allowance, is higher than possible using the Conventional HAR Antenna System. At 10 watts, the signal intensity may be 2.0 mV/m at 2.25 miles, producing a signable range of 8 to 12 miles. (Special FCC allowance for increased signal intensity is required.)

The SuperStation’s 49-foot antenna/tower, antenna tuner and 30-foot groundplane are designed to be ground-mounted in an unobstructed area approximately 100 feet in radius for maximum propagation. A concrete pad supports the antenna, tower and tuner.

Components

Antenna Tower

The tower is 21” square at the top and base and 48” high. It is a one-piece, galvanized steel tower with a hinged bottom plate that allows the tower to “tilt-down” to a 90-degree angle during antenna setup and erection. The tower includes a side mount for the antenna tuner. The antenna bolts to the tower through the tower’s top plate.

Antenna Tuner System

Provided in a weatherproof NEMA4 cabinet, the SuperStation3000 HAR Antenna Tuner features tuning networks for both resistive and reactive components, lightning arrestor and ground bus on an aluminum panel.

Groundplane

A groundplane is the copper wire part of the antenna system buried beneath the antenna support. The PowerPlane Groundplane is placed in a 6” to 12” excavation that extends outward 30’ in all directions and is covered with backfill. The groundplane consists of two central arcs of #4 bare stranded copper wire with 80 radials that extend outward in a circular pattern, provided in two halves for convenience.
